What are Barnie Bucks?
Barnie Bucks are the new currency for PTFA events. Each Barnie Buck equates to £1 and will be used at all stalls at PTFA events going forward. The various stalls that we run will always have a denoted Barnie Buck value (e.g. one candy floss stick will be one Barnie Buck). These values will be shared prior to every event so you can plan ahead.
Why are we using Barnie Bucks?
Here are the reasons we have chosen to use Barnie Bucks
It limits the amount of physical money handled across different stalls at each event.
Limits the number of card payment terminals needed at each event.
Though there may be a queue to initially purchase your Barnie Bucks, it should reduce wait times at the other stalls, allowing for a smoother experience within the event.
The kids can easily use Barnie Bucks to go to the stalls they want to, instead of worrying about change and cash... making it more kid friendly.
How can I purchase Barnie Bucks and what do they cost?
Barnie Bucks will be available to purchase at the front of every event on your way in. You can purchase as many or as little as you like. We will be accepting card or cash for Barnie Bucks. Each Barnie Buck will cost £1.
Can I use cash at a stall instead of a Barnie Buck?
For now, we are saying no to cash at stalls, while we trial this new approach.
What if im already inside the event and I need more Barnie Bucks?
The Barnie Buck stall at the front of the event will be open for the whole time so you can go to this stall if easier. However, PTFA Committee members (not stall volunteers) will have Barnie Bucks on them which you can buy from them with cash or card.
What if I have some left over?
Barnie Bucks are non-refundable, however they are transferable between events. As such, if you have any left over then please hold on to them for the next event. Alternatively, we will have a donation box at the Barnie Buck stall if you wish to donate them back on your way out.
If you have any questions, please reach out to one of the PTFA members.
